PORTAL (2024)

Handwoven wool, paper, driftwood

This weaving was woven during the AVA Lab 2024 Retreat which took place north of here on the lands of the Pomo people in Mendocino. During our time together in an old farmhouse, hiking through the woods, and making art on beach sands and waves, we reflected on the ways we want to hold space with our community. What do we wish for, and what will we commit to, being artists and cultural workers? We wove our intentions into a declaration and portal.
